Incorporated in 2005, Saltlakes Holdings (Private) Limited is an established agricultural concern with three subsidiary companies namely, Saltlakes Tobacco which is the flagship of the group, Saltlakes Implements, Saltlakes Advisory Services.

Because of the captive market created by the large book of tobacco growers contracted to Saltlakes Tobacco, the organisation provides a “one-stop” shop for the farmers, not only for their tobacco cropping programme, but for all other facets of farming.

Saltlakes was the first black company to introduce and run a successful tobacco Contract Scheme targeting solemnly the small scale holder farmers at a time when both local and multi national companies shunned assistance to small scale farmers. The scheme benefited over 7 000 farmers which converts to 10% of the market share, a move which contributed immensely to the growth and stability of tobacco growing in Zimbabwe.
